About the Central Mass Lyme
Foundation, Inc.

The Central Mass Lyme Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization created to help those battling Lyme disease as well as other vector-borne illnesses. The organization was created initially in memory of Jeanne Cloutier, who passed away on February 9, 2013 from complications with late-stage Lyme disease. Her family witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of the disease and their foundation was created to help raise awareness, educate, and provide advocacy so that the general public can be empowered to take back their own health.

The Central Mass Lyme Foundation, Inc. also has had several conferences to help education the general public about Lyme disease and has brought top Lyme experts into the area. They were instrumental in raising even more awareness in our state and in and around New England.

Their mission statement is as follows.

With regard to Lyme and vector-borne diseases, the Central Mass Lyme Foundation, Inc. will:

  • Raise awareness through advocacy and education, and

  • Provide resources and guidance that empower and help improve the quality of life of those that are suffering.

  • Core values are awareness, education and advocacy.

What Do We Do?

The Central Mass Lyme Foundation, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization working to raise awareness, educate, teach prevention and provide support. We have a toll-free Lyme line where people can contact us for the resources they may need for proper testing and treatment.

How Can You Help?

By supporting our various fundraising efforts, or by making private donations, you make it possible for us to work with Lyme-literate physicians and assist individuals suspected of having Lyme disease obtain proper testing. These funds also make it possible for us to do things such as obtain printed materials for public distribution, purchase and donate Lyme disease related books for our public libraries, purchase and install signs for our local parks and trails and provide resourceful materials in relation to tick prevention and Lyme disease symptoms. Our last conferences have not been made possible without the financial support of the people who believe in our mission. The Central Mass Lyme Foundation is NOT publicly funded. We rely solely on financial support of others who believe in our mission. How do we use your donations? We make tick testing kits to send out to school nurses in our area. We purchase Lyme-related materials for our local public and school libraries. We print more materials and give out freely to anyone who needs them. We have a toll-free Lyme line that has been active since we started our non-profit. We have a visible presence on most social media platforms and run an active Lyme discussion group. Every donation large or small, is appreciated.

You can also contact us directly to discuss opportunities to volunteer at 1-888-511-LYME..

Please note: If you are looking for us to speak at an event, we may ask for a donation to our foundation or some other compensation for our time, travel and materials. Thank you for understanding.
